Five Brunswick Isles Golf Trail Courses Are Among NC's Top 100
The North Carolina Golf Panel has ranked five Brunswick Isles Golf Trail courses among N.C.'s top 100 golf courses. Leopard's Chase, Tiger's Eye Golf Links, Bald Head Island Club, Rivers Edge Golf Club, and Sea Trail (Jones) have all been named to this prestigious list. The list of top 100 golf courses was published in Business North Carolina's March 2010 issue.
"We're thrilled to have five courses named to North Carolina's prestigious top 100, especially when you consider that there are 550 courses in the state" said Jack Himmelsbach of The Glens Golf Group which manages Trail courses Heather Glen and Glen Dornoch, as well as accommodations partner Village at the Glens. "It's truly an honor to be mentioned on the same list as Pinehurst No. 2, and it is a testament to the high quality of courses we have on the Brunswick Isles Golf Trail."
The North Carolina Golf Panel is made up of 150 club professionals and general managers, top amateur players, business executives, and members of the media. The panel can only vote on courses that they have played. The top courses are determined based on a scoring system that asks panelists to consider a course's conditioning, routing, design, strategy, memorability fairness, variety, as well as aesthetics. The Panel also introduced a new online tabulating system in order to provide a wider range of specialty rankings.
